I’ve spent over 15 years in the wonderful (sometimes weird!) veterinary world, starting in practice roles and eventually running digital campaigns for veterinary businesses. Alongside my passion for the industry, I’m a working mum, juggling the joys and challenges of family life with my career. This experience has taught me a lot about resilience, balance, and the importance of a strong support network, all values I bring into my work every day.

I’m truly passionate about animal welfare and love working with veterinary businesses and charities that make a difference. Through VetsDigital, my goal is simple: to help practices and businesses connect with their communities in a way that genuinely resonates. It’s all about building trust, supporting pet owners, and creating a positive impact for animals and the people who care for them.

I qualified as a vet from Bristol Vet School in 2005, and have since worked in farm animal, equine, and small animal practice, as well as pharmaceutical retail. I currently split my time between working for VetsDigital and two other veterinary IT companies, and teaching vet nurses and animal health students at Duchy and Bicton Colleges. I’m also one of the editors of the BSAVA Guide to the Use of Veterinary Medicines, an open-source text which is aimed at helping vets, nurses, and SQPs use medicines safely, legally, and effectively.

Outside of work, I live on the family smallholding on Dartmoor, with two Irish Setters, a pair of ferocious cats, chickens, horses and ponies, and a small flock of Castlemilk Moorit rare-breed sheep. I’m also churchwarden of my local church, a trustee of a compassionate neighbours charity, and I love studying archaeology and walking on the moor.

I’ve ended up in this career after a serious injury left me with limited mobility, but I discovered that I love teaching and helping people to understand complex concepts – whether that’s vet nurses learning about anaesthetic techniques, an animal health student learning about immunopathology, a vet refreshing their knowledge of the latest prescribing rules, or an animal owner learning a bit more about how to manage their pet’s arthritis!

Daniela Martins

I graduated from the University of Porto as a veterinary surgeon on 1st April 2014 (not a joke!).

When I was at vet school, I would always volunteer at local veterinary practices over the summer, learning from within the profession. After graduating, I worked as a vet in multiple clinical settings, from a one-vet practice to a three-branch clinic with out-of-hours care.

As I’ve always had multiple interests, after 4 years as a practicing vet, I decided to take a break from the clinic and pursued further training in a different field of veterinary medicine – food safety. However, I never got to work in the area, as the opportunity to join VetsDigital came along!

What I love most about working at VetsDigital is helping veterinary businesses overcome everyday challenges that keep them from focusing on doing what they love.

I’m mostly involved with content creation, and it’s through copywriting and editing that I channel my creativity and veterinary knowledge to achieve this goal, together with the work of our dedicated team. As for hobbies, what I enjoy the most are the little things in life – spending time with loved ones (including my 2 black cats and Sushi the goldfish), eating a nice meal, coffee, learning, reading a good book, watching a TV show, and being out in nature.

I joined VetsDigital before it was VetsDigital!

From initially bringing my organisational skills to a very small VetHelpDirect in 2009, my role and skills have grown and diversified with the company. Nowadays, I’m responsible for commissioning and checking content for websites and socials, alongside writing, designing, building and monitoring Meta ads for our clients.

I’ve stayed so long because it’s a great industry to be in, where our work educates pet owners, takes the pressure off veterinary staff, and ultimately helps improve animal welfare. The team at VetsDigital is fantastic too, I can’t imagine a better place to work!

I am servant to 2 cats, both aged 10. They are brother and sister but have very different characters – one is quite sedentary with occasional bursts of energy, while the other is very clever and cheeky!

I sing in a rock band, enjoy crocheting and teaching people to crochet, and I like cooking and baking too. Getting out into nature for a walk is essential every now and again, whether that’s in woodland, by the coast, or along a river – I find it a great way to escape and feel calmer, when life gets too busy.

Working here has been an incredible journey, giving me the opportunity to pursue my passion for digital marketing while being part of a fantastic, supportive, and creative team. I love the collaborative environment and the positive impact we have on veterinary practices and their clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and son—we always find ways to have fun and share lots of laughs. I’m a big fan of going for walks while listening to podcasts or audiobooks, and over the past few years, I’ve been exploring and developing my photography skills.

I graduated from the University of Lisbon with a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and a Master’s degree in Marine Biology and Conservation in 2017.

My Master’s thesis for veterinary medicine focused on the mental health of veterinary medical students. I published a scientific article about it and am currently in the process of publishing a second one.

I joined VetsDigital as a copywriter and social media manager in early 2022. Working at VetsDigital has given me the opportunity to develop my skills in social media marketing and writing veterinary content for an audience of pet owners and other veterinary professionals. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling to see wildlife, reading, writing and spending time with my four cats, who I named Petra, Lila, Darkie and Mercedes (because she was found in a Mercedes!).

Hi, I’m Jack. With over 20 years of experience in web design, I have a deep passion for creating visually stunning and user-friendly websites. My journey in design has been fuelled by a love for aesthetics, functionality, and innovation.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me spending time with Benny, my Welsh Border Collie mix, or in the garage tinkering with vintage motorcycles and machinery. For me, creativity extends beyond the screen into every aspect of life.

I have been working at VetsDigital since November 2021 following my 16-year career as a Veterinary Nurse.

From working in small animal first opinion practices to university hospitals and private referral centres, I have gained invaluable experience and insight into the veterinary world.

I love all aspects of my work at VetsDigital, but particularly assisting start-up independents with their branding, new website design and marketing strategies.

I enjoy spending my spare time horseriding, or exploring the Cotswolds alongside my husband and Bernese Mountain Dog. If we happen to “stumble” across an old pub with an open fire, great wine and a roast then that’s always a win!

Working with VetsDigital has enabled me to feel part of something bigger than a singular practice. My wife and I have two daughters aged five and under, who keep me busy. When I’m not with them, I’m walking my dogs on the beach, reading, writing or playing football for my local women’s recreational team.

Working from home is ideal for me after years and years getting stuck on the notorious M27, often daily, on my commute to my previous job.

I am a wife of 42yrs to my hubby, Des, also a mum of three grown-up children and grandma to two beautiful grandchildren.
I have always been a lover of all animals, having grown up with dogs, rabbits, budgies and a tortoise in my childhood. And yes, I was that child that kept all sorts of bugs in a jam jar with a hole in its lid in my bedroom!
